FAQ
Questions we hear every week
Still wondering about something? Phone Orlando Gutter Installers — we'd rather explain than leave you guessing.
What does gutter installation cost?
Cost depends on your roof size, the gutter material you choose, and how many downspouts you need. We'll measure your home and quote the full job before we start work.
How long does installation take?
It depends on the size of the home and the roof line; larger homes and complex roofs take longer. We'll tell you what to expect when we give you your quote.
What's the difference between sectional and seamless?
Sectional gutters come in pieces joined by seams; seamless gutters are formed on-site and have fewer leak points. Seamless costs more but requires less maintenance over time.
Why choose seamless gutters over regular ones?
Seamless gutters have far fewer seams, so they clog and leak less often. They're formed to fit your roof exactly, which means better water flow and less maintenance.
Are seamless gutters worth the extra cost?
It depends on how long you plan to stay in your home and your tolerance for gutter maintenance. Seamless gutters last longer and need cleaning less often, which saves time and hassle.
Do seamless gutters require special maintenance?
Like any gutter, seamless gutters benefit from regular cleaning, especially after storms or when trees drop leaves. Guards can reduce how often you need cleaning.
Do gutter guards really work?
Guards block most leaves and large debris, so gutters stay clear longer and clog less often. Some fine debris still gets through, so occasional cleaning is still needed, but far less than without guards.
What types of guards do you install?
We install screen guards, foam inserts, and solid covers, depending on your roof type and the trees around your home. Each has trade-offs in cost, appearance, and maintenance needs.
Will guards hurt my gutters?
Quality guards are designed to sit on top of or inside gutters without causing damage. We install them so they don't stress the gutter system.
When should I repair gutters instead of replacing them?
If you have a few damaged sections, leaks, or sagging, repair makes sense. If the gutters are old, rusted through, or damaged in multiple spots, replacement is often the smarter long-term choice.
What causes gutter leaks?
Leaks come from impact damage, rust, loose seams, and cracks in the joints. Sagging gutters can also let water pool and overflow instead of draining.
How long does a gutter repair take?
It depends on the damage. Tightening fasteners or patching a leak is a small job; replacing sections of gutter takes longer. We'll tell you what to expect once we've seen it.
What is soffit and fascia?
Fascia is the board behind your gutters that holds them in place; soffit is the underside of your eaves. Both protect your roof and keep water out of the attic and walls.
Why do soffit and fascia rot?
Water from rain, roof leaks, or clogged gutters soaks the wood over time, causing rot. Damaged gutters or downspouts that dump water near the eaves speed up the damage.
Should I replace soffit and fascia when I get new gutters?
If your soffit and fascia are sound, new gutters alone are fine. But if either is rotted, cracked, or pulling away from the house, it's wise to replace them at the same time.
Can soffit and fascia be repaired, or do they need replacing?
Small cracks, peeling paint, or minor damage can often be repaired. But if the wood is soft, heavily rotted, or pulling away, replacement is usually the only durable fix.
What happens if I don't fix damaged fascia?
Water will continue to seep into the wood and spread the rot. Eventually, the damage reaches the roof structure, attic, and walls, which is far more expensive to fix.
How do you repair soffit and fascia?
We remove the damaged section, inspect for hidden rot, and install new material. We also check and repair or replace gutters and downspouts to prevent future damage.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Gutters need cleaning at least twice a year, usually in spring and fall. Homes with many trees nearby may need cleaning three or four times a year.
What happens if gutters get too clogged?
Water backs up and overflows instead of draining, soaking the fascia, soffit, and foundation. Clogged gutters also get heavy and can sag or pull away from the house.
Do I need to get on the roof to clean gutters?
You don't have to—we handle it from the ground or a ladder and remove all debris. We also flush the downspouts to make sure water flows all the way to the ground.
Why extend downspouts?
Short downspouts dump water right at your foundation or in your yard, causing erosion, puddles, and water against the slab. Extensions carry that water away from the house or into a drain system.
What drainage solutions do you offer?
We extend downspouts with pipe, install dry wells or French drains for better water infiltration, and sometimes use splash blocks for simple redirects depending on your yard and soil.
When does a downspout need a drain line instead of an extension?
An extension works when the yard slopes away from the house. On a flat lot where water pools near the foundation, a buried drain line, a dry well or a French drain moves it further out. We look at where the water goes now and recommend the simplest fix that works.
